Macella & Incandescent, Flying Horse Photography

On of one of their frequent trips to Europe, Macella and Charlie were invited to the Czech Republic to look for prospective Grand Prix jumping horses.

It was Charlie who was first transfixed by a seemingly incorrigible gray stallion named Brno.  Macella saw the magnificence of the horse, but was a bit daunted by his behavior.  However, Melanie Rapp, herself a successful amateur competitor under the training of O'Neill and White, and a long time believer in Macella's skill heard that Brno showed the brilliance and focus required of an international competitor.  She bought him, sight unseen.  He was gelded and made the long flight to the west coast.

Rapp, O'Neill and White renamed the gorgeous young, gray gelding "Incandescent".  With hours of a dedicated training, they began the long grueling season of west coast World Cup qualifying events which started in August, 2007.

Known for his tremendous composure and poise under pressure, Incandescent has proven himself a stellar performer.  Turning in his best efforts when they are most important, Incandescent has acquired a huge support team.

The dynamic duo is preparing for the season with the training required of top athletes.  Trudging the hills at DMS or developing skills in the arena, the two can be found in the early hours as well as in the mid-day sun bonding in their affection and required perfection of each other.

Macella and Rockstar

During January, 2008 O’Neill acquired Rockstar, a dynamic, crowd pleasing Selle Francis gelding.  In their first season together the pair have proven to be a sensational, winning combination.  O’Neill and Rockstar hit the ground running at the HITS Desert Circuit in Thermal placing in four of the Grand Prixs.  The team continued their winning through out the Spring and Summer accumulating 10 more Grand Prix placings, including a win at the Los Angeles Jumping Festival’s FEI World Cup Grand Prix in September.

Caitano 7

An absolutely fabulous Holsteiner gelding, who has been to the World Games for his native country of Germany.  He was then sold to the Japanese team who took him to the Athens 0lympics.  Next he was bought by the Brazilian team where he won under the sponsorship of Mercedes Benz. Now happily residing in the beautiful Napa Valley, Caitano is owned by Jim and Kimberly Butts and continuing his winning ways in the Grand Prix ring w/Macella!
